Ricky wowed fans again on saturday night with a tko victory over Paul Malignaggi. fighting at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the scene of his only ever defeat, was sure to be daunting but Hatton showed himself to be on top form. 

After an uncertain start, Hatton dominated from the second round and really proved himself from round 6 with more movement and well placed hooks and crosses. he powered through to round 11 where a much weakened Malignaggi was forced to bow out as buddy mcgirt threw in the towel 28 seconds into the round.

Ricky's confidence and improved boxing abilities have been attributed to new trainer Floyd Mayweather snr.

Hatton claims:

"I was a little more patient. me and floyd had said i would be my usual aggressive self but i was pickling off shots a bit better.

Always seeking improvement, Hatton admitted he had much more to learn from Mayweather and said he was eager to venture into the higher weight categories again, in spite of his only defeat being from this division.

"Nobody will ever beat me at junior welterweight, i really believe that. but what sort of champion would i be if i didn't take them challenges on? that's what Rcky Hatton is all about."
