Case Study:

Morson International was appointed sole managed vendor to BAA for CAD Design resources on the T5 project in 2001. BAA asked Morson to operate under a single source mechanism to all first tier suppliers on T5; allowing BAA not only to manage consistency of pay rates but also enabled them to control overall cost of CAD design resources to the project.

This created a flexible CAD workforce which was deployed across each phase of the project as it progressed. To further improve efficiency, Morson invested in a new office at Heathrow and assembled a team to provide a robust infrastructure which included 3 strategic second tier companies.

In 2003 BAA revised the contract and included the supply of other engineering disciplines to coincide with the ever changing demands of the project.

Since the start of the project, Morson have supplied over 500 contractors and the single source model used to streamline resources, has been seen as a huge success and one that may be replicated on future projects.
